What are the indicators of a good CRO dashboard?
CRO stands for Conversion Rate Optimization, in other words the optimization of conversion rates. Improving your website traffic is good, but turning this traffic into conversions is even better. A good conversion dashboard (CRO) should make it easy to visualize 5-6 important indicators in a first level. Then, in a second step, It must allow to see in more detail how the pages convert, a vision of conversions by type of channel, type of medium (computer or mobile), type of visitors (new or recurring), …
Also, it must not only present absolute data: conversions, traffic, page views, etc … but also ratios such as conversion rates, abandonment rates or the percentage of conversions of a set compared to the rest of the site so that you can easily compare.
What are my conversions by goal?
Strangely on Google analytics, it is not possible with the native interface to have the different KPIs (key indicators) of your different conversion objectives side by side and thus to have a comparative vision.
With your CRO dashboard:
- You can easily follow conversions by type of objective
- You quickly compare the conversion rates compared to a previous period (ex: last year)
- You save time by viewing only the objectives that interest you
What to do with your onversion data by goal?
- If the conversion rates drop compared to a given period, it may be the sign of a problem on the site (ex: problem of loading time, user experience problems >> data that you can consult on the digital dashboard also)
- Conversion goals do not have the same importance, a strong split from one goal to the expense of another may indicate a problem in the conversion funnel
How are the repartition of my conversions by page type?
Knowing the volume of conversions to your site is good, but by page type is even better. Page types can be product sheets, category pages, articles, home, or other landing pages. Knowing where your visitors go to convert is essential to optimize your conversion rates.
With your CRO dashboard:
- You analyze the distribution of conversions, conversion rate, abandonment rate by type of page
- You quickly see conversion rate changes and conversion trends by page type
- You easily track the performance of page types as a percentage of conversions compared to the rest of the site
Why know your conversions by page type?
- Being able to prioritize your actions on the right pages. If a type of page is not generating the conversions it should, this is a sign that it needs to improve its user experience, or even its loading times for example
- This is a good way to know your effective pages and on which pages to invest more and / or direct your marketing campaigns
Which keywords convert?
It is difficult to know the keywords that convert on standard tools. However, it is a very important data and often acclaimed by our customers, which is why we added it by default to the digital dashboard.
With your CRO dashboard:
- You know which keywords convert for each type of channel (organic, paid, email, ..)
- You know first click and last click conversions *
- You can filter the keywords on a particular word or sort them according to the type of conversions
* First click conversions are conversions that come from the channel visited the first time even if the conversion took place 20 days later via another channel. Last click conversions are the last channel visited that converted.
What to do with my keywords that convert?
- You can improve your adwords campaigns or focus your SEO efforts on the right keywords
- If you see keywords that convert well but without really pages dedicated to these keywords, it might be a good idea to create these pages (I say that, I say nothing;))
